Are all Kumon centers the same?
Though all Kumon centers provide the same Kumon programs, each center is individually owned and operated. Things which may vary by center are: fees, policies, instructor experience and style. You should consider these differences in addition to location when selecting a center.
What age should I start my child in Kumon?
There is a benefit in starting children early, to established a good home routine and build confidence as they enter school. But Kumon work does require a certain amount of focus which could be a challenge with younger children. Though every child is different, in general we would not accept students under 3 years old. At 3 years old, we would consider enrollment of each child on a case by case basis.
My child has special needs. Can he/she enroll in Kumon?
Our center has experience working with students with special needs, such as autism and ADHD, Having a special need does not disqualify anyone from Kumon. To succeed in the Kumon program, as in life, requires dedication and perseverance. Kumon in not necessarily appropriate for everyone, with or without special needs. We belief each child is unique and each family's circumstances are different. We welcome all families to a free Assessment and Orientation, if they are interested in Kumon.
